  340 Pharmacy Purchasing Professionals from across the country and 91 Exhibiting Vendor Companies were in attendance in Las Vegas for the 2011 NPPA Conference in Las Vegas, August 15-18.

 

Since 1997, we have conducted the only national meeting exclusively for the pharmacy purchasing profession, the Annual NPPA Conference, held in Las Vegas every August.  This conference offers a unique opportunity for Pharmacy Purchasing Professionals in all disciplines and work settings to come together to learn the latest trends in Pharmacy Purchasing.

 

The NPPA Conference program has an estimated 10 hours of Pharmacy CE available each year.  Our only issue is pharmacy purchasing!

 

Members of NPPA can earn significant commissions by referring vendors who display at our conferences and advertise in our publication, Pharmacy Purchasing Outlook.

 

Here were some of the highlights of the 2011 NPPA Conference:

  • Best Buyer Practices - discussing standard-of-practice subjects as presented by Buyers on a peer-to-peer level.
  • An estimated 10-12 units of ACPE accredited CE's were available for credit towards Technician re-certification, including at least 1 hour of the elusive Pharmacy Law CE required for PTCB or ICPT re-certification.  Some CE was also available for Pharmacists.
  • 91 Pharmaceutical Company Sponsors exhibited their products & services and sponsored Conference events, programs, and items.
  • Participating GPO’s will have a discount available for their member’s registration fee, and will be present at the NPPA Conference for GPO Breakout Sessions.
  • Unlike most conventions, some of your meals are included in your registration fee. (approximately 4, not including Reception & snacks)
  • Opening Meet 'n Greet Reception with light dinner buffet & open bar
    for all Buyer-Attendees and sponsoring vendors.
  • Random Prize Giveaways in Reception & Exhibit Hall.
  • Qualified Grand Prize Drawing at the end of the Conference (in education session on Thursday), for one lucky Buyer-Attendee and their institution to receive $550 for facility+$550 for Buyer-Attendee (must be a current/new NPPA Member to qualify).
