Outstanding Pharmacy Buyer of the Year Award Program

NPPA’s Outstanding Pharmacy Buyer Award Program for year 2012 is now open for nominations.

Click HERE to go to the nomination form.  The 2012 Program is once again being sponsored by Hospira.  Pharmacy Purchasing professional nominees have the chance to achieve one of the following distinctions and prize awards, thanks to Hospira’s sponsorship.
            1st Place:       $1000 education /travel award
            2nd Place:        $500 education/travel award
            3rd Place:        $200 education/travel award

Nominees must have a current NPPA membership active at their facility through August 2012, and must be Pharmacy Purchasing professionals currently employed in a Pharmacy facility.  Previous year’s winners of 1st & 2nd place NPPA Outstanding Buyer of the Year, are not eligible to qualify for the current year’s Program.
  Nominations by a supervisor, co-worker, or colleague related to the Pharmacy Purchasing field, as well as self-nominations, will both be considered.  In these cases, we suggest that BOTH the nominator as well as the nominee, should fill out all or some of our nomination form so that is as complete as possible.  This gives the nominee the opportunity to comment further than the nominator may have been able to do, or allows them to add some additional remarks, and both eligible nominations will be presented to the judging panel and published to NPPA members in Pharmacy Purchasing Outlook
  Criteria used to evaluate the significance of the nominee’s accomplishments within the past year, takes into account the level of positive impact on the pharmacy in the past year, and may include such things as:
               ·
  Providing a model for excellence;
               ·  Helping others to do their jobs better;
               ·  Improving the services provided by the department;
               ·  Streamlining business process efficiency;
               ·  Applying innovation or creativity to job duties;
               ·  Developing new job skills;
               ·  Keeping a consistently positive attitude despite workload demands;
               ·  Accomplishing savings in cost and/or time.

 Completed nominations from now until June 25, will be printed in the January/February through July/August 2012 editions of Pharmacy Purchasing Outlook, the official publication of NPPA.  The winners will be determined by an independent panel, and recognized at the 2012 NPPA Conference in August and in the September edition of PPO.
