We are pleased to announce that Acute Care Pharmaceuticals has agreed to again sponsor the Outstanding Pharmacy Buyer Award of 2006-07.  This is the fourth straight year that Acute Care has agreed to fund this unique award program for Pharmacy Purchasing Outlook.

Award prizes as sponsored by Acute Care are as follows.

1st Place:  $1,000 and a 1-year subscription/renewal to PPO newsletter.

2nd Place:  $500 and a 1-year subscription/renewal to PPO newsletter.

3rd Place:  1-year subscription/renewal to PPO newsletter.

Pharmacy purchasing can be one of the most important positions on any health-system or hosptial team, but the job is often performed without the rest of the pharmacy staff's understanding of what is entailed to have prescribed medications in stock while keeping costs within tight budgets.  Thus you may be recognized by nominating yourself.

All nominations sent from now until June, 2007 will be printed in the November 2006 through June 2007 editions of PPO, after which the winner will be determined by an independent panel, and announced in the July-August 2007 edition.

Up for consideration this year so far (nominations remain open until May 20), are the following nominees.

Nominee:  April Morton, CPhT, Pharmacy Buyer, Midcoast Hospital, Brunswick, Maine (full nomination printed in the November 2006 issue of PPO).
